Compared to paraffin waxes, I like the idea of using scented soy candles. They make me feel I am a responsible inhabitant of the earth. Why? Well, for one thing, paraffin wax is processed from crude oil. Crude oil is derived from fossil deposits. Candles are not the only human need that requires the presence of fossil deposits. There's electricity which is the number one reason for fossil oil depletion. Soy candles on the other hand is processed from soy beans – which gives more benefit to us. We do not have to dig deeper and it gives more reason for farming – an occupation that many youngsters do not consider in this modern world.
